In the presence of a part of the diplomatic corps in the Republic of Macedonia, as well as other eminent guests, within the IOC General Assembly, I highly acknowledge the role of UTMS in supporting the sport.

The President of the Macedonian Olympic Committee, Prof. Dr. Vasil Tupurkovski, on 21.03.2013, awarded him with a special plaque for special contribution to the affirmation and development of this sports institution at the University of Tourism and Management Skopje. On behalf of the Rector of UTMS, Prof. Dr Ace Milenkovski received the plaque by the Pro-Rector for Science and Development at the University, Prof. Dr. Sasho Kozhukharov, who, having complimented the audience, said that he was honored that UTMS received this plaque, primarily due to the fact that UTMS is one of the few Universities that invests in the development of sports and pays great attention to it speaks of the existence of the Faculty of Sports Tourism.

The awarding of this plaque took place in the UTMS premises, where the 22nd General Assembly of the Macedonian Olympic Committee was held, which also celebrated its twenty-first birthday. This event was attended by numerous guests, top and famous sports workers, as well as representatives of diplomatic representations in our country, namely, the Ambassador of the United States of America, Mr. Paul Wohlers, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, Mr. Christopher Yvon, as well as senior representatives from the embassies of Russia, China and Turkey.

Otherwise, the IOC's election assembly presented the unreserved support that the International Olympic Committee gave to the IOC, primarily with new donations and programs, such as the new transport vehicle for the needs of athletic transport, and three new projects in total value of over $ 100,000.

This act has crowned the long-standing excellent cooperation between UTMS and IOC, which has its own specific results, such as scholarships for athletes to study at UTMS, the UTMS project within the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) for sports and adrenaline tourism and many others.
