From 25 to 29 April 2023, the University of Skopje hosted the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme “Smart Skills for Smart Future – Digitalization in Tourism Business”, followed by an online session on 2 May 2023.

The programme brought together students and academic staff from North Macedonia, Croatia and Bulgaria, creating a dynamic international environment for learning, knowledge exchange and the development of new ideas for the future of tourism.

Throughout the programme, participants explored the digital transformation of the tourism sector, emerging technologies, modern tourism services, data-driven approaches and the development of customer-centred tourism experiences.

Alongside lectures, interactive sessions and practical activities, the programme included visits to tourism destinations, enabling students to connect academic knowledge with real-world tourism environments.

By combining physical mobility with online learning, the programme provided a modern and flexible educational experience, while its international dimension created new academic and student connections and strengthened cooperation among the participating institutions.

Through “Smart Skills for Smart Future”, the University of Skopje continues to promote internationalisation, innovative education and the development of future-oriented skills that prepare young tourism professionals for the challenges and opportunities of the digital era.
