The University of Tourism and Management in Skopje organized the 7th International Scientific Congress ICON BEST 2020 on the topic: "ALTERNATIVE PATHS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF EMERGING ECONOMIES IN GLOBAL BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT". Top academic and expert names from the country and abroad participated at the Congress. The Congress thematically and scientifically, through scientific research papers, addressed the analysis of world trends and developments in the field of business, economics, tourism, marketing, intellectual capital, and education.

Congress's topic caused a great deal of attention in the world due to the global crisis's topicality. Above all, the academic public's focus was on analyzing the level of development of the market economy as a result of the application of alternative roads in conditions of the turbulent environment.

The scientific knowledge and empirical research presented were summarized in conclusions and recommendations that promote effective alternative methodologies, aspects, and tools for adaptability, sustainable development, and economic prosperity. The scientific research papers will be published in the conference proceedings, and the selected best papers will be published in the international scientific journal of UTMS - Journal of Economics.
